Mexican Hamburger Casserole

The Mexican Hamburger Casserole is a new recipe that I have created for my family and they LOVE it! I started with a Hamburger Casserole recipe that I found on the internet, added to it, and made it my own. I love cooking because I like to eat good food that doesn’t come out of a box. In light of that, I will continue to share my concoctions that I’ve turned into recipes here for everyone to enjoy.

Ingredients for our Mexican Hamburger Casserole

That’s right, you do not see this on many recipe pages. I’m going to start out with the ingredients so you don’t have to scroll through pages of ads and other crap to find what I am going to cook here. That new, right?!

The Hamburger meat:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • One tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Cumin
  • One teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 green, red, or yellow bell pepper diced
  • 1 small to medium size onion diced

The rest of the ingredients:

  • 1 pound of your Favorite Pasta
  • One 15oz can of Tomato Sause
  • 1 can of your Favorite Verity of Rotel
  • 2 bags Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/2 bag Mozzarella Cheese

Lets get to cooking the Mexican Hamburger Casserole

First, start by browning the hamburger meet and preheat the oven to 375. Once it’s browned to your liking mix in all the seasonings, bell pepper, onion, beef broth, and the water. Cover it, reduce to a simmer, and stir occasionally. This step should take about twenty minutes and this is the time to boil the pasta. I’m not explaining that, if you can’t boil pasta, this is to complex for you. When most of the moisture is absorbed into the meat, it’s ready. Do not let it go to long!

Next, add the Tomato Sause, Rotel, Pasta, and half of the cheese to the skillet. Let that all mix together nicely and take it off the heat. Now pour that into a casserole dish and cover with the rest of the cheese. Cover it with foil and bake it for 20 minutes. Done! It’s time to enjoy some incredible Mexican Hamburger Casserole!

Wait, we are not done yet!

We will need something to drink with our meal! What is the best thing to compliment a great meal? Wine!! You must try a Truly Fine Wine to really enjoy the experience. The store-bought wines that you see in HEB and even the liquor store are nothing but glorified spiked punch with too many artificial ingredients. You seriously need to try a Real Fine Wine to see what you are missing out on! Check that out HERE!
